# Invite your team

> Invite teammates by GitHub username, grant Fabric app access with work email, and manage member and app access lists.

> [!WARNING]
> Team workspaces are an experiment. Turn them on in **Settings → Experiments**. They may change or be removed in a future update.

Invite teammates after the workspace setup finishes. GitHub access lets them change apps. Fabric access lets them open previews and published apps.

## Open member settings

You can open member settings from either place:

1. From Home, in **Team workspaces**, select the workspace's **Overview** button or the gear button titled **Members and settings**.
2. From a team app, open the team menu in the header and select **Workspace overview**, then select **Manage**.
3. In the workspace panel, select **Members**.

## Invite someone

1. In **Members**, find **Invite a teammate**.
2. Enter their **GitHub username**.
3. Enter their **Work email** if they should open Fabric previews and published apps.
4. Turn on **Owner** only if they should manage members and settings.
5. Select **Send invitation**.

Fabricator invites the GitHub user as a repository collaborator: owners get the **Admin** role on the repository, and members the **Write** role. If you entered a work email, it looks up that person in Microsoft Entra ID and grants Contributor on both Fabric workspaces.

GitHub only lets a repository's admins add people. If you're an owner with the **Maintain** role, **Invite a teammate** says so instead: ask one of the repository's admins to add your teammates on GitHub with the **Write** role. See [Who is an owner](#who-is-an-owner).

## Who is an owner

Fabricator treats people with the **Maintain** or **Admin** role on the workspace's GitHub repository as its owners, and people with the **Write** role as members. Owners change the workspace's settings, choose where the pipeline runs, run **Repair**, manage app access, and remove apps.

GitHub keeps a few things for the repository's admins. An owner with the **Maintain** role can't:

- Invite or remove people.
- Delete the workspace, which archives its repository.
- Protect `main` on GitHub. Fabricator keeps everyone on the publish flow itself instead.

## Accept an invitation

Invitees accept from Home:

1. Turn on **Settings → Experiments → Team workspaces**.
2. In **Team workspaces**, select **Join** or **Review invitations**.
3. In **GitHub account**, choose the account you were invited as. **Review invitations** starts with the account the invitation is for.
4. In **Invitations**, select **Accept and join**.

Fabricator lists team workspace invitations for the chosen account. Other repository invitations are not shown there. Fabricator always uses that account for the workspace, whichever account the GitHub CLI has active.

## Manage app access

Workspace owners can select **App access** to see **Who can open the apps**. This list shows users and groups with access to the workspace's Fabric workspaces. Use the remove button to remove a person's Fabric app access.

## Remove a member

In **Members**, owners with the **Admin** role on the repository can remove a member or cancel a pending invitation. Removing a member removes their repository access. If Fabricator gave that GitHub login Fabric access from this computer, it also removes that Fabric access. Their unpublished changes stay on GitHub.
